Shining City Visions presents:

Terra Incognita (a work in progress)

Not so much another film about autism as a film that is autism through and through, being a highly individual picture of life seen through one autistic artists eyes. His very self seen as a series of sometimes mundane, sometimes poetic journeys through the landscape of both his reality and his vision.

The film features Larry Arnold, who is a prominent autistic advocate in the UK.

Through his own eyes it tells of his world, now in intimate detail, other times through the distance of recollection. It is the journey we all take toward that "unknown country from whose bourne no traveller returns"

In this unique artwork the medium and the message are inextricably intertwined.,the journey is the journal, la journée, (day in French) before the ending of which the autistic artist will go his way, a metaphor that takes us beyond our ordinary lives and conceptions of what either a drama or a documentary should be, into the realms of art and spirituality.

This unique DVD features the music of Moondog, Palestrina, Tallis and original compositions as well as the poetry of the artist himself; John Donne, Shakespeare and passages from the King James Bible.

So far the project is incomplete and this page provides samples of the work in progress, expressions of interest from potential distributors are invited, as more detailed samples and an outline can be provided to those who have a serious commitment to this project.
